Microsoft Azure customers worldwide now gain access to OrxaGrid’s Low Carbon app to take advantage of the scalability, reliability and agility of Azure to drive application development and shape business strategies.
London, United Kingdom — December 22nd, 2020 – OrxaGrid Ltd today announced the availability of their Low Carbon app in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, an online store providing applications and services for use on Azure. OrxaGrid customers can now take advantage of the productive and trusted Azure cloud platform, with streamlined deployment and management.
OrxaGrid are an innovative smart technology company based in the UK, developing measurement, analytics and visualisation tools for electric power systems to enable a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy future. Their Low Carbon app is a free-to-try, fully featured solution for combined electric vehicle charge point (EVCP), solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage system (BESS) feasibility studies. The app optimally sizes PV and BESS systems to minimise the impact of proposed EVCP installations, ensuring good investment returns and minimal carbon emissions. OrxaGrid developed the Low Carbon app with Microsoft support through Microsoft’s AI for Good programme.
The Low Carbon app is unique in offering effortless combined EVCP, PV, & BESS feasibility studies for sites with multiple buildings, providing heuristic results quickly without any need to download and install software. Site owners and building energy managers considering installing EVCP but concerned about energy costs and carbon emissions can use the Low Carbon App to easily assess a local whole-energy system approach under various scenarios.
“Our new Low Carbon app enables building owners who wish to minimise electricity costs by embracing low carbon technologies to quickly evaluate the right size of solar and battery storage systems for their location,” said Akshat Kulkarni, OrxaGrid CEO. “A case study using the Low Carbon app for a group of three buildings on a UK university campus found that 57 additional electric vehicle charge points could be supported whilst delivering a 61% return on investment.”
“Through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, customers around the world can easily find, buy, and deploy partner solutions they can trust, all certified and optimized to run on Azure,” said Jake Zborowski, General Manager, Microsoft Azure Platform at Microsoft Corp. “We’re happy to welcome OrxaGrid’s solution to the growing Azure Marketplace ecosystem.”
The Azure Marketplace is an online market for buying and selling cloud solutions certified to run on Azure. The Azure Marketplace helps connect companies seeking innovative, cloud-based solutions with partners who have developed solutions that are ready to use.
